Oct 27, 2022 - Oct 28, 2022Edvance Annual Gathering 2022 - October 27-28, 2022

The 2022 Edvance Annual Gathering keynote speakers will be Lynn Swaner and Andy Wolfe. Andy Wolfe is executive director of education for the Church of England, and Lynn Swaner serves as chief strategy and innovation officer at the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

In their recent book, Flourishing Together: A Christian Vision for Students, Educators, and Schools, Andy and Lynn call Christian educators to a better vision of flourishing within a connected ecosystem, in which “each one’s flourishing is dependent on their flourishing together.”

We are convinced Andy and Lynn’s focus on flourishing together in this connected ecosystem is especially relevant for our network of Christian schools here in eastern Canada. We will explore a vision for flourishing together over several sessions with Lynn and Andy on the main stage, as well as during a special “educator cohorts” breakout session designed to connect educators with other educators who teach the same grade level or subject. These educator cohorts, led by a trained facilitator and launched at the Annual Gathering, will continue throughout the year with virtual meetings to keep all educators connected to their role-specific colleagues for practical support and encouragement. So, we will not only learn about a vision of flourishing in a connected ecosystem, we will deepen the structures of flourishing in that connected ecosystem all year long and beyond.

Location

This year’s Edvance Annual Gathering will be held both in person at Redeemer University (777 Garner Rd E, Ancaster, ON) and remotely via a livestream and Zoom breakout rooms. There is a discounted rate available for schools who are attending virtually.
