OFFICE COORDINATOR

HDCH is posting for an Office Coordinator to support the school in accomplishing that mission and vision. This position is full-time beginning summer 2022. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of school office experience, or experience in a similar environment. Our preferred candidate will have a data management skill set combined with an interest in youth education in a faith-based setting. Experience with volunteer boards and /or charitable sector experience, as well as knowledge of Ministry of Education compliance, would be considered assets.

Duties and Responsibilities
This person will work both individually and with a team to provide generous hospitality and execute exceptional administrative support for our Christian high school, with a goal of helping accomplish the mission and vision of our school.
Responsibilities include:
- Administrative support for the Principal
- Administrative support for the Board of Directors
- Ensuring the accurate keeping of data and smooth running of various databases, particularly our Student Information System, including movement of data between databases
- Managing the implementation of complex administrative projects, such as coordinating stakeholder meetings, board policy updates and Ministry of Education requirements
- Maintaining consistent communications within the business team and the school and to the wider community
- Managing and monitoring the organizational calendar, such as board meetings and professional development days
- Providing support to fellow service team members in admissions, events, finance, relationship stewardship, and other areas as needed or as assigned
- Leading the two school office administrative support staff
Qualifications and Attributes
We are looking for someone who has:
- An understanding of and commitment to Christian education, in particular HDCH’s mission and vision
- Effective teamwork skills; ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Strong project-management skills
- Previous administrative experience at a school, preferably a high school
- Love for teenagers
- Experience with database management, in particular with Student Information Systems, such as Edsby, edsembli and/or SchoolAdmin, and is able to connect data across multiple platforms
- Digital fluency
- Business communication skills, including both written and verbal communications, and an ability to work in a variety of styles, including administrative, report writing, and external communications
- Post-secondary education in related areas such as business administration, communications or education or equivalent experience.
Hours & Compensation
This is for a permanent full-time position. Workdays are Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm, plus attendance at monthly board meetings, occasional school events, and some committee meetings in the evenings throughout the school year and occasional Saturdays. The remuneration for this position will be a salary ranging $42,693 to $69,374 depending on experience and education. Vacation allotment for this role includes two weeks at Christmas, one week at March Break and four weeks in summer. A comprehensive benefits package is included in the compensation.
