Who We Are

Hamilton District Christian High has been a thriving learning community in the Hamilton area for over 60 years. We are an independent, faith-based school that believes educating teenagers involves more than passing on information. At HDCH exceptional teachers invest in students’ intellectual and character growth to see them grow in competence, compassion, creativity, reflection, and resilience. We want our students to critique and create culture in all of their classes and extracurricular pursuits.

We invest in building a restorative school culture. Come and walk through our halls and experience it for yourself. Our school climate is rooted in building positive relationships with students. Our staff hold high expectations and provide high support for all students as they journey the high school years together. Just ask our students - our teachers are not only highly knowledgeable in their fields of study, but also work hard to support each student and meet individual learning needs.

We approach classroom teaching through project-based pedagogy. Students are given meaningful tasks, engage in ongoing inquiry involving experts, apply their learning to real-world situations, and use their learning and projects to improve and bless the greater Hamilton area and beyond. This way they learn to live out our mission of cultivating character through learning for lives of service to God. Because our learning is so closely connected to our community, we do a lot of field trips and frequently host visiting experts in many different subject areas. On top of these academic field trips, HDCH also has a variety of sports teams and student clubs that encourage our students and teachers to be out of the building and in the community.

Who We are Looking For  

You have an active Christian faith. You love teenagers. You have a passion for excellent education. You are creative, flexible, and a team player. You are familiar with and have evidence of teaching from a project-based pedagogy - inquiry, collaboration, iterations and feedback, real-world service application - or you are excited to learn about it. You value positive relationships, have a learning mindset, and enjoy discovering wonderful things alongside students.
