Immanuel Christian School (ICS), a K-12 School in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.  ICS is welcoming a new principal, effective August 1, 2025.

About Us

Immanuel Christian School is an interdenominational K-12 school, founded in 1985, when a group of parents sought to provide an excellent, Christ-centred education for their children in which children are well-equipped for service in His kingdom. A school society was formed, approved a constitution, established a membership, and elected the first board of directors. Since that time, Immanuel Christian School has gradually grown and established its place in Prince Edward Island.  

We believe that a Christian curriculum that is holistic and has excellence clearly in view will best help children grow as confident followers of Jesus, prepared to excel in their future callings. With this in mind, we are constantly focusing our energy on curriculum development and improvement, seeking the best teaching methods and equipment.

As a Christian school, we teach all our subjects from a Christian worldview, opening the students’ hearts and minds to the wonder of God’s creation, His hand in history, and His lordship over all. 

Key Responsibilities

Immanuel Christian School operates under a Policy Governance Model, with a leadership team led by a Board of Directors and the Principal. This unique structure presents an exciting opportunity for a new leader to step into the Principal role or for an experienced Principal to develop their areas of strength further. The successful candidate will possess a clear vision for Christian education, solid leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, and educational experience, with a desire to contribute to a supportive leadership structure that allows our entire organization to thrive. The Principal is also required to liaison with local churches and the community.

Who You Are

The School Principal provides a unique leadership service to the Board, the school staff and the community. The Principal is expected to embody the pursuit of the vision and mission of the school while managing the school’s resources. The Principal has board-delegated authority and responsibility in the oversight of the operations of the school and its reputation and advancement in the supporting community.  Immanuel Christian School desires a Principal who can offer spiritual leadership, Board leadership, staff leadership, learning leadership, student well-being leadership, administrative leadership, financial leadership, facility leadership and community leadership.

Key experiences and qualifications for the ideal candidate include:

• Master’s Degree in Education preferred
• Professional designation of a Certified Teacher
• A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience (preferably across a variety of grades) as well as administrative and staff oversight experience
• Previous experience providing Biblical leadership to a Christian community
• Salary range for this position will be dependent on education, qualifications, and experience, in keeping with the Edvance salary grid, ranging from $75,000.00 to $120,000.00 annually, with health and dental benefits as well as retirement benefits
