Full-time Educational Assistant

We are looking for an educational assistant to join our team.  This will be a full-time position.  Interested applicants should submit a resume and statement of faith to alise@sccs.ca, Principal. This position will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as they are submitted.

Strathroy Community Christian School strives to support the whole child: mind, body, and soul.  An integral part of that support is our Bridge team, staffed with assistants, learning support teachers, and a student support worker.  Our assistants work closely with the teachers to provide necessary support both in class and in one-on-one work outside of the classroom.  This is a truly flexible position that helps us make a difference in many students’ learning each year.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with students and teachers
  • Work with the Bridge team to implement programming that is supportive to the mission and vision of the school
  • Know and support the individual educational plans of those students being worked with
  • Create a safe and caring learning environment for all students
  • Participate in the school society and school events
  • Contribute to the school community outside of the classroom

Requirements:

  • Clean vulnerable sector/criminal record check
  • Actively involved in a local church
