TDChristian is seeking to hire a full-time Personal Support Worker for the 2025-26 school year, who is a committed Christian engaged in, passionate about, and dedicated to helping support students with their daily functioning at the school. The ideal candidate would work to provide direct care and classroom support for a student with physical needs in a school setting. The PSW will assist with personal care, feeding, classroom participation, and transitions throughout the day, while encouraging independence and supporting the student’s learning and engagement.

What we desire in our Personal Support Workers, and specifically for this role: 

Personal Support 

• Assist student with settling into the school day upon arrival. 
• Support with washroom breaks, including a single person lift/transfer to and from the toilet. 
• Administer 3 g-tube feeds daily, monitoring and recording intake as required  
• Monitor student’s physical comfort and energy levels daily. 
• Encourage self-advocacy while providing appropriate support in collaboration with teachers, school staff, and family to ensure continuity of care. 

Classroom Support 

• Assist with transitions (accessing books, backpack, computer, jacket, etc.). 
• Place required materials within reach for independent use. 
• Scribe for the student when needed. 
• Adapt tasks as necessary, ensuring the student can fully participate. 

Qualifications 

• Personal Support Worker Certification or equivalent. 
• Experience supporting youth with physical disabilities in educational or care settings is an asset. 
• Physical ability to lift upwards of 100 pounds. 
• Strong communication, patience, teamwork, and organizational skills.
