Alliston Community Christian School is looking for Personal Support Workers to join our staff for the 2023-24 school year. 

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you will provide health and welfare assistance to an individual student with learning challenges. You will work with an individualized assistance plan for a student at ACCS in such a way that removes barriers that limit a student’s inclusion in the classroom. You will be supported as you work closely with the Special Education Resource Teacher and classroom teachers at ACCS. Guidance and training will be provided by ACCS. ACCS expects that you, as a Personal Support Worker, will:

• be a Christian, sharing your faith and biblical knowledge within the mission of our school.
• demonstrate compassion for the children with whom you work with, being sensitive to the child’s character and seeing the child as a unique person, blessed by God and gifted with individual talents and abilities despite limitations.
• demonstrate insight and understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and spiritual growth of students with developmental challenges. Your previous experience and training as a PSW is an asset. Valid First Aid/CPR certification is required and will be supported by ACCS.
• communicate effectively with your coworkers at ACCS, respecting lines of confidentiality and advocating for the needs of the student entrusted to your care.
• work collaboratively with others, embracing and supporting the Christian culture of ACCS.
