Hamilton District Christian High has been a thriving learning community in the Hamilton area for over 60 years. We are an independent Christian school that strives to guide, educate and develop the abilities and character of our students to prepare them for a life of service to God in their communities and beyond. We are looking to hire skilled and compassionate Learning Support Workers (LSWs) for full time work, beginning in September, 2023 and full time starting in December to cover a maternity leave.

We are a welcoming community with a focus on restorative practice to maintain healthy, strong Christ-centred relationships. Our teachers use a variety of teaching strategies with a focus on inquiry and project based learning. LSWs are assigned to classes where students with IEPs may need additional support to navigate learning. 

In collaboration with the classroom teacher, LSWs provide instructional and personal management support for individuals and small groups of students as assigned by the teacher. LSW duties may include materials organization and management; note-taking; test and scribing support; classroom, project, and lab support; navigation of school spaces; after-school homework support; and reinforcement of school and classroom community policies. 

We are seeking candidates with relevant education and experience as Education Assistants, Personal Support Workers, Teachers Assistants, and Child and Youth Workers.
