Who We Are

Vancouver Christian School is a large, diverse K-12 school located in East Vancouver, British Columbia.  A vibrant and close-knit community of over 800 students, VCS is a proud leader in Christian education celebrating 72 years of history in the region.  From the early days of our Christian Reformed roots to the building of a new, modern campus in the heart of Vancouver, VCS is dedicated to preparing students for a life of transformation and service through excellent, Christ-centred education.  

Join our Teacher on Call Team

At VCS, we have the privilege of teaching and shaping our students through every interaction within and outside our classrooms. As teaching staff, we love to nurture the potential we see in every child and to share God’s love through our actions and words.  

We have exciting opportunities for individuals to join VCS as a Teacher on Call (TOC).  These important roles support the school when there is a need for additional staff due to special events or teacher absences and are often opportunities for people to get familiar with our school and community before applying for more permanent roles within the school.  Whether you are looking for part time hours or casual opportunities, wanting to gain further teaching experience or simply enjoy the variety of teaching at different schools in different grades and subjects, we would welcome your interest in joining our TOC team.  

Salary: $265 per day ($37.86 per hour)

Requirements

At VCS, we require TOCs for all grades and specialities.  To be considered for a TOC position, you are a certified teacher in British Columbia or alternatively, if you are not certified, you will have experience working with children and youth in different specialities and grades.   

VCS is a school community passionate about Christian education and we are looking for people who will be able to demonstrate their commitment to a Christ-centred life through involvement in a faith community and who understands and acknowledges the mission, vision and community standards of VCS.
