Pursuing Excellence: A Look Inside a Peer Support Network

By Richard Van Egmond  |  April 11th

How can high school tech teachers pursue excellence in their teaching? What is one word that captures your vision for teaching your students? With those questions in mind, 12 teachers from Edvance's Technology Peer Support Network (PSN) spent a day last month at TDChristian’s STEM design workshop honing their skills and learning a variety of high-level woodworking techniques.

Combining a variety of skills including design, laser cutting, steambending, advanced routing, laminate adhesive, and vacuum pressing, Matt Rock (London Christian High) and Kevin Godber (TDChristian) led the group through a full cycle from design to finished product for an amazing project idea (a “pollinator pod”). The day was also valuable in developing relationships among the group who work across the province and benefit from sharing ideas and best practices in their courses.

If you are an educator in an Edvance affiliate school, there is a PSN for you, too! Get in touch with us at info@edvance.ca and we’d love to help you get connected.
