Full-Time Principal

Lacombe Christian School (LCS) is a thriving, independent PreK-9 school with over 435 students, centrally located in  Alberta between Edmonton and Calgary.  

Having recently celebrated 75 years of God’s faithfulness, we are excited for the opportunity to welcome a new principal who is passionate about quality, Christ-centered education.  LCS has flourished thanks to God’s continued blessings and generations of dedicated and committed parents. We currently serve 205 families representing 17 different denominations. 

Our deep hope is to find a new leader who is eager to help us fulfill our vision: To the glory of God, by His grace, and on the foundation of His Word, Lacombe Christian School strives to nurture and educate children to be Spirit-filled disciples of Christ and responsible, discerning citizens in society.

        1. Advises and assists the Board and school committees and attends Board meetings

        4. Provides positive and constructive feedback 
        5. Recognizes the value of maintaining Independent School status
  1. Educational Leadership
        1. Encourages staff in lifelong learning and professional development 
        2. Ensures that all students, regardless of their abilities, can flourish as learners 
        3. Facilitates extra-curricular opportunities where students and staff can develop their gifts and abilities 
        4. Is actively involved in staff meetings, professional development, assemblies, and chapels
        5. Gives continuous attention to curricular development
  1. Operational Leadership
        1. Helps initiate consideration of the future needs of the school
        2. Works with the Business Administrator, Board, and Finance Committee to ensure fiscal responsibility 
  1. Community Leadership
        1. Builds positive relationships within the broader community 
        2. Facilitates school involvement within the community
        3. Encourages staff to provide community service opportunities for students to engage in real work, that meets a real need, for real people

  1. General Qualifications
        1. Valid Alberta teaching certification and Alberta Leadership Certificate or the ability to obtain them
        2. Experienced teacher and administrator
        3. Knowledge of and appreciation for the Reformed tradition
        4. Master’s degree is encouraged and considered an asset
