The Secondary Campus Vice Principal will be a key member of the educational leadership team at Richmond Christian School (RCS). This role requires a collaborative and relational leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a deep understanding of Secondary education, and a passion for Christ-centered learning. The Vice Principal will work closely with the Secondary Principal and the Director of Learning and Formation to foster a thriving educational environment that reflects the mission and vision of RCS.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Function:
Support the Secondary Principal in providing leadership, organization, and administration of the Secondary Campus, ensuring a high-quality, Christ-centered educational program.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a positive, Christ-centered school culture.

  • Oversee student conduct, attendance, and discipline in alignment with RCS values.

  • Support curriculum development and implementation for Grades 9–12.

  • Collaborate with department heads and teachers on course planning, curriculum alignment, and professional development.

  • Coordinate extra-curricular programs and campus events (e.g., chapels, graduation, open houses).

  • Assist in scheduling, budget oversight, and adherence to BC Ministry of Education standards.

  • Support communication with parents, students, and staff regarding attendance, conduct, and learning progress.

  • Contribute to staff handbooks, safety plans, and other administrative processes.

  • Serve as Acting Principal when required.

Educational Leadership:

  • Model and promote quality, Christ-centered education.

  • Participate in the Education Team and contribute to instructional leadership across the Secondary Campus.

  • Support teachers in unit and lesson planning, pedagogy, and assessment practices.

  • Facilitate collaboration and professional growth among staff.

  • Lead initiatives related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment consistent with current educational research.

  • Build strong partnerships with parents through information sessions and regular communication.

  • Engage in professional learning and maintain awareness of provincial educational trends and best practices.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BC Teaching Certification.

  • Master’s Degree (or currently pursuing one).

  • Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., assistant principal, department chair, committee leadership).

  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and written communication skills.

  • Active involvement in a Christian church and alignment with RCS’s Statement of Faith.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at the high school level.

  • Experience in Christian education.

  • Training in assessment, curriculum design, pedagogy, or restorative practices.

  • Knowledge of UDL, MTSS, and technology integration in education.

  • Experience managing complex, time-sensitive responsibilities with grace and effectiveness.

  • Enthusiasm for innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate a Christian worldview throughout the educational program.

Compensation

The salary for this position for the 2025–2026 school year ranges from $118,175.69 to $125,835.22, depending on experience and qualifications. This range will be reviewed and updated for the 2026–2027 school year.
